Hey fish lover! Too large portions alert! Friendly yet professional staffs, they make you feel welcomed. And yes, must try their fish and chips!!! Try to have it then and there itself, because then the fish won’t be soggy and you’ll have great experience! P.S.: If you want to have some chilling spicy, carry for yourselves ;)

I have been to Olympus several times in the past and until yesterday, 31 May 2025, I would have given it five stars. Until then, you were greeted with a lovely smile by the legendary manager, who looked after you as if you were a member of his family. The food was outstanding, as was the service. Yesterday, a friend and I decided to have lunch there. We arrived at about 12:30, shortly after it opened. It looked like Olympus was under new management – no sign of the friendly manager. Instead, it was being run by two youngsters. One of them, a young man, greeted us – though ‘greeted’ was hardly the word. He had a scowl on his face as he seated us at the table and dropped two menus on it. My friend attracted the young man and asked whether there was a special lunch deal, as there used to be on weekdays. He just mumbled, very quietly, ‘cod’ and walked off. He didn’t seem to speak very good English. We looked at each other with astonishment and wondered whether we should stay. After a few minutes the other youngster – a woman – told us that she would be with us shortly to take our order. We were still astonished at the poor service and wondering about leaving but our minds were made up a few moments later. A very noisy group of about eight young people arrived and seated themselves at two tables. Among them was a young kid – about three of four years old. He added to the racket by repeatedly and loudly banging on the table with the cutlery. Our plans for a quiet chat over lunch were ruined so we walked out. I doubt whether either of us will return, but we shall both keep our happy memories of better times when the genial manager made every visit a pleasure. I cannot imagine that he would have hired the young and very unfriendly man to be at ‘front of house’ in his place so I can only assume that Olympus is now under new ownership. A sad end to a great era. Based on this experience I have had to give one star in each category only because it would not allow one star.

I have lived all over London the past twenty years. This place does the best fish and chips hands down. It's not even close. The chips are delicious, the batter is crispy. But the fish is out of this world. As good as anything from Whitby. Very fresh. Am now moving away from Finchley after five years and will really miss this place.

Amazing experience dining in at Olympus, the cod was huge but so delicious I couldn’t help but eat more than usual. I still had more than enough to take back for lunch tomorrow though! Don’t sleep on the starters especially the hummus, tarama dips with fresh bread and salad— they go hard. Will come back again and try the desserts :) Everyone there was very friendly, especially Chef Eddie!
