Lovely Hygienist - Especially Good for an Anxious Patient Desiree made me feel comfortable and cared for when I visited her for my teeth cleaning appointment. I’ve hated going to the hygienist in the past (at a different practice) because the noise and uncomfortable sensations were too overwhelming but Desiree was understanding and accommodating - she had the machine on a lower setting and it was absolutely fine. I left with a smile on my face. I would definitely recommend her, especially for a rather anxious patient like me.
The only staff member who is professional, pleasant, and polite is Yasmine, the receptionist. She is amazing! However, The new young receptionist they hired needs to learn some manners; she is awful, immature, and incompetent. Unfortunately, the dentists are not much better. We left this practice months ago.
I used to be a patient here (thankfully not anymore) and I left because I believed the dentist was only interested in charging me money for issues that didn’t actually exist. I was a patient for roughly 10 years before I realised that every regular check up I had with Dr Kafil resulted in a minimum of one or two fillings, which at the time I thought was normal (I was a teenager/young adult) and he even did a root canal on me when I was only 18 years old which looking back I don’t think was probably necessary. I started to suspect that possibly the fillings were unnecessary when I returned for a regular check up 6 months after the last one and he advised I needed 3 fillings! I thought this has to be a joke, it was becoming too much…I took my files and went to another dentist a few days later who confirmed I didn’t need a single filling. This confirmed to me that Dr Kafil was charging me for fillings (and maybe even root canals?) that I did not need. To me, this showed that he did not care about his patients health - I now have to live with long term side effects of the root canal and a crown that is not aesthetically pleasing. I’ve been with my new dentist for almost 9 years and I’ve had not more than 2 fillings. I’m writing this review now so that if anyone suspects to be in the same situation, it might be worth asking for a second opinion from another dentist. This review is solely based on my experience alone, I’m sure other patients have had their own positive or negative experiences *** Response to your reply: in between appointments I was often travelling and would have my check ups done abroad so my dental check ups were always timely. Below however doesn’t explain why Dr Kafil advised I should have 3 fillings, when upon second opinion from another dentist, I was told my teeth are in perfect order. Since leaving Dr Kafil I have had maybe 2 fillings and no issues, whilst Dr Kafil performed multiple fillings each time. Preventative policy or not, one does not conduct fillings for absolutely no reason. Please kindly send me my records and x rays at earliest convenience as these were not sent to me even when asked at the time. Thanks
Desi without any question is the best dental hygienist. Even though I have been visiting her for a good few years I feel that she puts me at ease as I had a fear of attending a dental surgery. She is very professional & kind & funny at the same time. She becomes your friend. Also Sahana, the lovely lady at Reception is also very polite & professional. She has always gone out of her way to be extremely helpful when I phone up to make an appointment. I would go to say above & beyond her role. Jacqueline thanks you both Desi & Sahana
I’m quite new to N12 Dental and so far, the experience as a patient here has been very nice with staff being so nice and welcoming! I’ve felt comfortable in all the appointments I’ve had with Dr Tabei and the receptionists are always friendly. Today I had a Hygienist appointment for the first time with Desiree and she was so lovely and welcoming which made my nerves go away. I had such a pleasant time. Thank you :)
