I recently had the incredible experience of visiting Ali at A & B Salon and I can’t praise him enough for his outstanding service and professionalism. I made the decision to donate my hair to the Little Princess Trust, a cause very close to my heart. From the moment I stepped into the salon, Ali made me feel comfortable and valued. His warm and welcoming demeanour instantly put me at ease. Ali took the time to thoroughly understand my vision and needs. He patiently explained the process, ensuring I felt confident every step of the way. His expertise and meticulous attention to detail were evident as he carefully prepared my hair for donation, making sure everything was perfect. The result was a stunning new haircut that I absolutely love! Not only did Ali ensure that my donation was handled with the utmost care, but he also gave me a style that exceeded my expectations. When I was booking my appointment in advance in the salon, I explained what I was after, and again, on the day on the appointment, I specifically told the hair stylist that I would like to keep the colour I had at the time, since I went blonde originally because I have lots of greys already, and this way they blend very well and are not so visible. With darker colours, the roots start showing within a couple of weeks, and I want to avoid it. Long story short, this didn't happen. My hair is much darker than what I came in with, and additionally, on having a look at it in proper light in the morning, the back is not very even, and clearly showing the line between the darker new hair dye (which is now brown) and my older blonde (which is of course darker than it used to be). I commented that this was not what I asked for or was expecting, to which the hair stylist said that it wouldn't have worked on my hair; I did come in with such hair, so clearly it can be done. He further said "I don't know what you had done on your hair before, maybe someone bleached it" - now this would have been an excellent opportunity to ask, before starting treatment that will be pretty permanent, if the client actually wanted to go darker, despite stressing on two separate occasions that this is not the case. I also had a trim and a blowdry, which were ok. I paid the full price because I didn't want to argue. The hair stylist mentioned that we can always add some highlights if the greys start coming through quickly (they will), to mask them, which again was completely not the point, and not what I wanted or would be planning to do. I wanted to continue with the colour that alows me to go weeks without an appointment, whilst still looking presentable. I'll have the colour corrected somewhere else after some time passes, not to overprocess the hair. Of course, in the meantime, I will be enjoying the grey parting I got used to not seeing. Shame, because I thought I may have found a local salon to go to regularly.
This salon was an absolute nightmare and ruined what was supposed to be a special day for my mum at my brother’s wedding. I booked two appointments well in advance—one for hair colour and one for makeup—and the experience was beyond disappointing. The lack of professionalism, care, and basic listening skills from the staff was appalling. Hair Colour Appointment: The consultation was a complete joke. I was there to help translate and explain what my mum wanted, but the stylists completely ignored me. They barely listened to anything we said, just shoved a hair colour book at us, and rushed through the whole process. We picked a shade that was supposed to lighten after two washes—fine, no problem. On the day of the appointment, they chose the lightest possible color, claiming AFTER THE FACT that darker shades wouldn’t cover greys properly. Are you kidding me? Why wasn’t this mentioned during the consultation? My mum now has brownish-red hair instead of the black she wanted. If you supposedly have 13 years of experience, how do you mess up something this basic? Makeup Appointment: This was a disaster on a whole new level. I repeatedly emphasized that we wanted natural makeup—not overdone, not heavy. What does the makeup artist do? She completely ignores me and, during the consultation, had the audacity to insult me with comments like, “You boys know nothing.” Who do you think you are? On the day of the wedding, she plastered so much makeup on my mum that she looked completely unrecognizable. My mum ended up going home, washing it all off, and crying. Yes, crying—on her son’s wedding day. How dare you call yourselves professionals when you don’t listen to your customers and do whatever you please? I came to this salon from a recommendation. Clearly, they don't t care about its clients, their preferences, or their feelings. They just do what they want and expect you to deal with the consequences. Avoid this place at all costs unless you want your special occasion ruined. Absolutely disgraceful.
I visited the salon today to get my hair cut and styled. The result was excellent. Ali took his time to understand exactly what I wanted and paid great attention to detail. Finally, the service was impeccable. Thank you very much!! ΕΥΧΑΡΙΣΤΏ ΠΟΛΎ
I go to Joli every single 3/4 weeks without fail - I get manicures, pedicures and haircuts! They’re run by the two loveliest owners, Ali & Betty! They’re super friendly, talented and they know what they’re doing. The prices are good and I’m always walking away super happy with whatever treatment I’m getting!
