Our first time trying shabu shabu and we loved it. We were absolutely stuffed at the end of the all you can eat. staff were attentive, Asahi pints were reasonably priced. I’d also like to note that this isn’t America and it shouldn’t be a shock if you don’t want to pay 15 quid service charge. The customer should decide the tip. Other than that good experience 😀
Great Japanese food, simply presented and great prices. Terrible & annoying ordering process.
My friends and I went to Eat Tokyo on a Friday night. We didn’t have any booking, they were quite busy as it was dinner time, but they still managed to seat us so that we didn’t wait long. There are lots of options on the menu, starters are about £3-£7. With main meals and Bento Box’s starting from £9 onwards. Staff were attentive, giving us water and making sure we were happy with everything. The vibe inside was nice, female staff are in kimonos too, so it really gives off a Japanese aesthetic. Food was delicious, very good value for money, especially in the heart of London where dinners can be quite pricey. Would recommend if you like Japanese food.
Been going to this Eat Tokyo branch for more than a decade (have been to the G2 Shabu Shabu further up the road near Cafe Japan and just before Sainsbury's) . I have seen many faces amongst the management and waiting staff come and go so there have been significant changes in how the place has been running. Prices may have gone up bit by bit however majority of the dishes such as the bento boxes remain as large portions and the lunch sets are reasonably priced. The large katsu curry is a bargain if you are happy to share in a group. Often greeted with long queues on busier days but the staff do try to accommodate where possible. There are sometimes special seasonal menus so keep an eye on those as the menus do get new additions as well.
Absolutely excellent value for the amount and quality of authentic food. Menu was huge and complex. Service was fast but our waiter( non Japanese which might be the reason) had no idea about menu items and was completely unable to help with any queries which was a little tricky so we struggled a bit. Orders can be placed via an I pad or a human. The menu is available in paper form as well as digital. The restaurant is quite basic almost cafeteria style but the food and value more than compensates. We spent £100 for 4 people including alcoholic drinks and too much food to eat which was incredibly cheap.
